Dea & Naryo

Hermitage Jakarta, A Wedding Story

Dea and Naryo’s wedding unfolded with a quiet sense of confidence. Measured. Intentional. Effortless.

Nothing about this day felt rushed or performative. Instead, it moved with calm precision, allowing emotions, gestures, and silences to exist exactly as they were meant to.

Naryo is not only our client, but a longtime friend based in Jakarta. Our connection stretches back many years, long before this wedding took shape. When he invited Luxima to document his wedding, it became a meaningful chapter for us. Known for documenting destination weddings for international couples, this wedding marked a rare and significant moment, our first destination wedding in Jakarta, and our first Indonesian wedding client.

Flying from Bali to Jakarta, we arrived with a clear intention to observe, not interfere. Dea and Naryo understood documentary photography instinctively. Their trust created complete creative freedom, allowing us to work without direction, expectation, or pressure. Within the context of an Indonesian wedding, this level of openness felt quietly exceptional.

The day progressed with remarkable ease. Preparations were serene and intimate. Dea carried herself with understated elegance, while Naryo remained grounded and present. Together, they embodied a refined balance, relaxed, assured, and deeply connected.

That energy extended naturally to their families and inner circle. Interactions felt aligned and sincere. Emotions surfaced gently, never forced. Moments revealed themselves without needing to be arranged, giving space for authenticity to lead the narrative.

This is where documentary and editorial wedding photography converge. In restraint. In observation. In allowing moments to unfold without interruption. We were not directing the story, we were invited to witness it.

Photographing this wedding felt weightless. A rare experience shaped by trust rather than control. Every frame emerged organically, guided by connection, atmosphere, and emotional truth.

Dea and Naryo reaffirmed why we believe so strongly in this approach. When weddings are given space, they reveal their own rhythm, elegance, and quiet power.

You guys are killed it. Such an honour to be a witness and documenting your wedding.
